PROFESSIONAL TEAM

Art Mentor brings together a professional team of local youths, including passionate performers and artists, as well as experienced stage managers, choreographers, and theatre designers. Our artists include Gary Cheung, Jacqueline Law, Yeung Chun To, and Cecilia Lau (Resident playwright, director, and actor); Hilda Lam (Musical director and vocal coach); Maggie Yu (Musical director); Amos Wong, Joshua Tang (Resident composer); Jeffrey Liu (Sound engineer); Fred Cheung (Stage Manager) and Candy Sum (Choreographer).

Since its establishment, Art Mentor has been committed to promoting local performing arts. We provide job opportunities and a platform for aspiring artists to showcase their works. We actively involve local young talents, such as composers, lyricists, performers, make-up artists, and more, in our productions.

MUSICAL PRODUCTION FROM 0% TO 100%

With the support of our dynamic and experienced team, Art Mentor has successfully presented a series of 100% original musicals to the audience. We focus on creating works with Hong Kong characteristics, using Hong Kong as the cultural backdrop of the play. Our creative team independently concocts all the plots, characters, scripts, songs, lyrics, and choreography.

Through telling original stories, our artists capture the importance of bridging generations, understanding within families, and the support of friends and neighbors. We strive to create down-to-earth musical theatre masterpieces that resonate with our audiences.

REGULAR PERFORMANCES

Throughout the year, Art Mentor conducts at least two performances featuring the talents of our child actors. We provide intensive musical courses for children and teenagers, allowing them to learn Art Mentor’s original scripts, songs, and dances, hence cultivating their self-expression and artistry.

Each intensive course lasts for 2 to 3 months and is taught by a professional musical theatre actor. The course includes theatre games, drama rehearsals, vocal and dance training, etc. At the end of the course, students will be able to step onto the public stage and complete a musical theatre performance.

Our professional directors and designers fully nurture our students along their artistic journey. We provide support such as Backstage operation, sound design, lighting design, and costume design. To date, we have completed eight projects.
